Had an interesting day. DH and I decided on some work that needed to be done around the place - painting and a new fence. Some landscaping too. We are going to try and move some plants we have outside our property fence on the alley to the front yard to see if it will improve curb appeal. I think DH is overwhelmed by the work. Tonight I had to nag him quite a bit to get him out to help me with the weeding.
We have a tear down garage that is badly in need of painting and re-shingling. Though I wouldn't trust the roof to support anyone. We're debating whether to have it scraped, painted, and shingled. Or leave it 'as is' and just dock the price of a garage off the selling price. What would you do? It's a single car detached garage...about fifty years old. Needs a new pad too. The current one is cracked and heaving in places...and sunk in others. A total new garage would be about $20K CAD. It would be a 2 car garage though, which is expected for this neighborhood.
I suggested we call in the real estate agent to tell us what to do, but we're a bit reluctant to do that. We don't want to be listing before we have all the work done. We need maximum dollars for this place because we're moving to a higher cost of living area.
I had a long nap this afternoon...about an hour. Supper was BBQ.
Did some research on the price of used oak futons. We have one we want to sell.
