I liked that going out to eat was more of an event. I used to drive a minimum 45 minutes into work without traffic, so I never thought much about driving half an hour to go eat. Shopping was about half an hour, too. But a Walmart opened up in a neighboring town, so we were really fortunate there. The longest part of my drive was lake-view because we lived on the tail of the lake versus the head, so 8-9 miles was just on our own road. LOL
It was really the best of both worlds because there was so much close enough. Here, there isn’t really a big city for 1.5-2 hours away and they aren’t very desirable to go to. LOL
I would really love grocery delivery, but here as far as food delivery, we can get subs or pizza. Since they are located so close, it’s weird to get it delivered. LOL It’s like half a mile away. This area is all franchise restaurants (most are restaurants that are closing in other cities and we just got some of them LOL) and let me tell ya, that’s just weird to me and is probably one of the weirdest things about this pocket of Michigan. We just got Starbucks not long ago and that’s funny to me.
