@tibbar, hope you feel better soon!
@Sara, stay dry! And send some rain our way please! We are so dry here...
The second fireplace insert company did not call back. We'll see if they call tomorrow morning. If not, we'll move on.
The quote from the first painting company was high and they were not going to take the storm windows off to paint them separately! We'll see what the second company says when they swing by this weekend.
I sold food grade foil lined cardboard lids, tomato cages, a dented bookcase, and a garbage can today. I had one "No Show". When I contacted her she said she had gone home from work early because she was sick, and to pass the item onto the next person. Only problem is there wasn't a next person. Oh well. Our Moving Fund is doing well so far.
I listed more stuff online. DH and I both agree this is a much better way of selling things than a garage sale. People come for one item in particular and they don't haggle as much as other sites we've used. We finally have the pricing down. Always ask for $5 to $10 more than you want for an item. Let them haggle, and accept it. They feel good and we get what we want in the end. Also, with this method of selling we don't have to sit in the sun in the garage all day. We are getting better quality buyers too.
I was out in the yard with DH bringing him pots to empty of dirt before listing them online for sale. My word! We had a lot of pots of dirt on the property! I also helped him reline the front walkway with stones and back fill behind them to set them. I told him I didn't want him moving plants this time of year unless he was going to water them in good. He wasn't. So I said 'not until this fall then'.
We both were looking at real estate in the area we're wanting to move to. There are some places in our price range, which is nice to see. Not as close to where we'd like to be, but definitely within a half hour of there. That's not too bad.
A friend came over for supper and we went for a walk and talk after. Played a few games and she went home as DH came back from his bicycle ride.
