Good Morning. I forgot 5:30am comes so early. LOL
3 kids out the door. Just my little guy left who doesn’t leave until 8:25am. This is the first year, I won’t be walking him to class and it’s because well, he’s in 5th grade now and not a tiny boy that wants his mommy walking him to class.
We drove the other kids to school. but since the bus picks up at the driveway, we are letting him take the bus. We will do a test run to see if Miranda has time to grab her bus in the afternoon. It will be a challenge for her to catch it. The bus doesn’t wait as long at the middle school as it does at the elementary school. However, she’s close enough that she can walk home or she can just call. I just don’t want her to panic if she misses it this week.
Ally has pom practice and band practice tonight and won’t be home until around 9:15pm. Zach has band practice, too. But I don’t think anything directly after school yet. I’m uncertain if Key Club is going to jump into action immediately in the first week, but with Ally being an officer, it might. We shall see how she will ever juggle pom with Key Club responsibilities because many of the service events are at the same time as practice.
I foolishly asked if the kids had their schedules and locker combos sheet. I forgot they have everything on their phones now. I was actually a little embarrassed I asked. LOL
It’s pouring rain here. I won’t be able to hang laundry on the line. I have so much to do today, it’s just crazy.
I made Ally a little dollar bill origami heart last night to let her know I’m going to miss her smiling face. This isn’t the one I made, but is the pattern I made:
Edited to add, Gabe just came by the house for a minute to let me know everyone made it to school fine and that I was a beast this morning. LOL That’s how things get done here when there’s chaos. There has to be someone that leads and organizes the troops. It all falls into place, but the first week back, the early mornings are tough. Miranda is waking up an hour earlier and it’s stiff competition for the bathroom, the hall mirror, etc. She had first day jitters and a mom saying get this binder into your backpack (one was left out) and you need to stack them opposite or they don’t fit well and you have exactly 5 minutes before dad leaves, so get your shoes on NOW. LOL Zach and Ally snapped into action and did very well this morning. Ally and Jack are grabbing ice tea, so he drove Ally this morning and they have first hour together (and 4th and 5th and lunch.) Not bad considering they are a grade apart.
I’m making teriyaki chicken wings for dinner and cupcakes. I need to bake cookies for lunches, too.
