Good afternoon everyone! I was up early. Sorted and organized clothing. Packed my out-of-season stuff in Rubbermaid bins I picked up yesterday. Put current season clothes in the closet. I now have an empty wardrobe rack to sell.
I've spent today negotiating sales online, but no one's showed. Maybe later...or tomorrow. A lady at church did buy one of our houseplants today...outside of the church. I won't conduct business inside the church.
Came home and had lunch and a nap. Looking around at things with an eye as to what I can get rid of and how I can lighten the load on the moving truck. I texted my brother some photos of books I think he and his family might want. They are all specific to Western Canada, which is not where we're heading. Mostly gardening and field guide books.
Talked to DH about rehousing my dye equipment in lightweight Rubbermaid bins, rather than the heavy plywood box they're in now. He thinks it's more expensive to buy the bins than to ship the box. But the reality is eventually it will all be moved into Rubbermaid bins anyways, because they're easier for one person to lift. The plywood box they're in now takes two people to move.
This week we're getting a quote to put a gas insert in our fireplace. Can't use the fireplace because it's too old, single brick chimney and no flue. A recipe for disaster. So, once the insert is in I'm listing a fireplace screen and fireplace tools for sale. Plus I can take away the 'plug' we made for the fireplace to keep the cold air from coming down the chimney in the winter.
Other than that I'm thinking about the gardens out front and how to beef them up with items from the back and side yards.
DH, for his part, has been ripping CDs and scanning photos like crazy. We have some CDs to give away and the photo albums have to go back to family members who loaned them to us specifically so he could do the scanning for them.
Right now it's over 28 C. Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 34 C. Then Tuesday the weather forecaster is promising rain...thunder and lightning and rain...It's about time! We are so dry here. Hope the lightning doesn't start any fires.
Anyways, that's my day so far. Talk to you all later!
