Thanks @Sara . I phoned her today. She's at the lake until tomorrow. She said when she gets back in town she'll check her schedule and see if she can fit us in. I told her we weren't looking at selling right away, that we had work to do and we knew it. But we needed an outsider's set of eyes on the place before we sank a lot of money into it that wasn't worth doing. First thing she asked me was our address. She's one of the best realtors in the province. I imagine she doesn't take on just any home. It will be a challenge to reach her expectations. But I believe we can do it, and if we do I believe we'll get top dollar for our home.
For his part DH phoned the fenceman and left a message. Hopefully he'll get back to us soon too.
We both went out and bought some lawn edging to put between us and the neighbours. This will require some diplomacy and a chat with the neighbours. The neighbours put down some bark mulch, but it's well onto their property by about a foot or so. I don't want the edging on their property at all. So I'm asking DH to deal with them. He's met and talked with them a couple of times.
I sold something today for $10. I listed more stuff online for sale. I phoned a local music store about some opera CDs I want to sell. The man who knows everything isn't in till tomorrow.
We also bought some sand so we can re-lay the front walkway where it was ripped up a couple years (!!) ago when they laid the new sewer and water lines.
And we picked up ant killer for this honking big ant's nest we have by the fence.
That's plenty for one day. Tomorrow we have to focus on other things.
