It's been awhile since I posted to this thread. I've been plenty thankful for the resources and friends God has given me/us.
A friend showed up from overseas on Wednesday and her car battery had died while she was gone. We took her to Canadian Tire to buy a battery recharger. She made it home safely, a 2 1/2 hour drive away.
I have friends I go stitching with on Friday mornings on occasion. It's nice to know they're always there to talk to and to stitch with. I took my trip photos last week and the first time a newcomer opened her mouth to gossip loud and long about someone she didn't like, I asked the people in my corner of the room if they wanted to see trip photos. They did, and I managed to take away at least some of the audience for the other woman.
I came home and was delighted to find a bouquet of flowers from one of my daughter's for Mother's Day. Bless her soul!
Then there was the friend who invited me to a choral concert and supper on Saturday, all expenses paid. I usually drive her places related to church events. Still, I was surprised. She's a pretty caustic old lady at times. But she wanted me to meet her other friend who was in town for the next while. We all went out and had a good time.
Sunday was Mother's Day and I went to church. DH and I did some walking and he cooked supper and took me out to a restaurant for a nice dessert and tea. I paid from groceries, but hey, he was willing to go! lol We had a good time chatting and decided some future plans for this year. I am grateful for having the opportunity to do that.
Then today we went and picked up my new computer, an iMac. I'm still getting used to using a mouse. I forget how to get the scroll bars on the sides of the various screens. So frustrating. I'm using the arrow buttons a lot. However, I am grateful for DH who told me I could get whatever computer I wanted. It's been 7 years since I bought a main computer. I iPad mini is the first generation produced, and I use an iPhone 5S. Kind of tells you how long I hang onto things. The guys at the iWorld store were amazed. They told us anything over 9 years old was considered "archival" material! lol
So yes, I have a lot to be grateful for these last few days. God is good!
