This is one area that I want to work on this year. While I'm grateful often, I tend to forget all the little things that are going incredibly well in my life versus the things that are falling apart and aren't the way I want them to be.
Usually, I share gratitude thoughts and feelings with my mom, but not often enough.
I tend to think that my gratitude gets buried sometimes because it's easy to compare myself to others. Sometimes this makes me feel behind, inadequate or even sad and frustrated. This tends to happen if I read too much social media like Facebook or I dwell on mistakes I've made or the past.
So I will make a conscious effort to try to share my gratitude even if sometimes it seems small or insignificant. There are many blessings in my life and things I take for granted. My happiness isn't dependent on extraordinary moments. I can still share and practice gratitude in the midst of problems or struggles, too. It is my hope that it will help decrease some of the negativity in my life and highlight the good at the end of each day.
